Serving the Homeless of Kankakee County...From Homeless to Housed

Fortitude is a grassroots nonprofit in Kankakee County that provides services and street outreach for the homeless.  We serve hundreds of homeless individuals each year with the help of multitudes of volunteers!  We operate primarily with the support of our local community.

A Forever Home for Fortitude!

Like the guests we serve, Fortitude has been waiting a long time for somewhere to call a home of our own. We are excited to share that our wait is almost over...we found our "forever home"! With our 3 phase plan from a headquarters from which we can operate the Night Fort, to day services, to on site emergency overnight accommodations, this building will allow us to achieve all our goals for service to the homeless, and more! The large space, with numerous rooms, will allow us to have office space, meeting and group rooms, an art space, play room, clothing "boutique" for guests, a space for hair cuts and medical care, even a toy room where guests can pick out free toys so their kids don't go without on birthdays and holidays. The possibilities are nearly endless.

We need your partnership to make it all happen! Visit our Capital Campaign page by clicking the link below for more information. Donations can be made online or mailed to 1180 N. Convent, Bourbonnais, IL 60914. Please join with us in our effort to best serve our homeless!
